SpeedRead Privacy Policy
SpeedRead has no advertising, analytics, tracking, custom account, or developer-operated backend. Reading remains available offline.
Files and local data
SpeedRead accesses a file only when you select it or open it with the app. The local library stores book metadata, tags, status, reading position, and preferences on your device. PDF text extraction and OCR run on-device.
Private iCloud synchronization
When iCloud is available, DRM-free EPUB and password-free PDF originals and their metadata, tags, status, and reading position may be stored in your private iCloud database to synchronize your Apple devices. SpeedRead does not operate a separate server for this data. OCR results, derived PDF text, and reading preferences remain local and are not synchronized by SpeedRead.
Your choices
Signing out of iCloud pauses synchronization without blocking the local library. SpeedRead asks for confirmation before uploading local book data after an iCloud account change. Local data is removed when the app is deleted, subject to normal device backups. Private iCloud data follows your Apple account and iCloud retention controls.
